Conclusion to The Chemistry of Time
Everything discussed in the previous post is fixed in the calendar and drawn in the stars. This does not mean things will go as described or as anticipated, just that the character of the times will contain the elements as shown. Tomorrow is not yet written but it must consist largely of what exists today due to forces of inertia. There are only limited options available out of which we can build tomorrow, but as we have seen this summer during the times in which this series has been composed, the rapidity with which things can shift and move is not to be underestimated. The animation below contains the unfolding of time over the next couple of years, one day at a time. Watch as the Moon and the Sun cycle around the sky and notice each meeting they make with the slower moving objects. Every single one of these moments is a disruption to the routine, to the present, and to the inertia. They are the days where you and everyone else will be met by the catalysts of change and will be given to choose. You can choose to be honest when you have been misleading, or you can choose to act when you have been resting. You can choose to move after you have been still or you can choose to speak after having been silent. The disruption is certain, but its direction is not yet known.

It is the late Summer of 2024 in New York City, at the center of the global empire that has crowned over the entire world for generations as it has waved its wand of culture, finance, war, technology, and language. A hot and humid brightness hangs over the city, blasting us with the bright and piercing rays of the summer sun. The times have changed, and they are promising to change again soon. The crisp and cool autumn air hangs just weeks out in the distance, coats and cool evening breezes, early twilight, and the return to focused and determined activity that September brings after months of the humidity-driven slowness of the northeastern summer. It is the start of some kind of new year – back to school season – when the Sun is in Virgo and the order and details and purity once again seem to really matter. How did you celebrate summer, and how will you prepare for winter?
When you live in interesting times it is not enough to linger over just the days of the week or the months of the season. It is necessary to consider the trajectory of your path out beyond the winter and the spring and the summer that follows after. The light will fade like it does each December and then slowly but surely it will find its way back to fullness and summer sunshine. When you’ve trained your eyes to see around those bends, the dashing and galloping choruses of the next big thing, the fad of the moment, the flash in the pan, you come to understand that most of it is just fool’s gold. You see the myopia of people caught up in hype and sensation, darting across the room like cats chasing the dots of a laser beam waved by some mischievous person just out of sight. The game is fun for the cat because he is not under the impression that it is anything other than a game, but for most people it is different and these distractions and discourses and dialogues take on grand meaning and purpose and urgency and it drives them to action, never reckoning that behind the little bouncing dot must be someone holding the device that is powering it.
Many times the person holding that device has the very calendar we have studied in this series. It is their little secret, their high education, and their superior way, and they use it to know how the light is bouncing before they choose in which direction to point their beam. But now, so do you.
